Aristopet Oral Antibiotic for Ornamental Birds (Avicycline Tetracycline Powder) an oral antibiotic for ornamental cage birds. Active constituents: Tetracycline, Hydrochloride. Broad spectrum antibiotic for the treatment of bacterial enteritis and diseases caused by tetracycline sensitive organisms in ornamental caged birds.
Size: 50g
Directions for use: Not for use in food producing birds. Seek veterinary advice is psittacosis (Chlamydia psittaci) infection is suspected or if birds do not respond to treatment within 5 days. Medicate the drinking water at the rate of 5g (1 measure) per 1 litre of water.
Freshly prepared medicated drinking water should be made available every 24 hours and should be the only source of drinking water during treatment. Treatment should be continued for 3 to 5 days or until after the symptoms have disappeared. 100ml of prepared solution will treat 20 small birds (canaries, finches, budgies) or 4 large birds (parrots, cockatoos). Remove calcium supplement (cuttlefish, grit, nibbling blocks etc) for duration of treatment as they reduce Tetracycline absorption.
